FWS lied in this interview, Are we surprised? No not really. Lie #1 wolves eat and kill cattle everywhere there are wolves and cattle together in NM and AZ, so that quote that it is rare that cows are bothered is a lie. It is only not a lie if FWS is not considering only wolf occupied areas and instead looking at national statistics.

Lie #2 compensation interdiction is working. It isn't even funded and no money has gone out from that particular fund. We know this because our board members are on that comp/ int team. LIE LIE LIE that is what the FWS does.

Their is a range rider. There was 4 months of livestock removal. There are herders in the cattle every single day and night. To indicate otherwise is a flat out lie. There are 200 cows on deeded land out of the reintroduction area and FWS will not act. There is no way to put them in barns and corrals and feeding them has already been done while the ranchers waited for the agency to do the right thing. The only thing to do now is kill them all. FWS and the groups sponsoring that false and misleading petition have made that the only option. They are responsible through negligence.

We have just now gotten semi-current locations from 2-20 and it seems that it is likely that 2 Luna pack yearlings and an adult male were in the area and likely were the ones involved. FWS didn't put out their locations in the days after the attack but then they normally do not if there is a kill. They usually don't want the people impacted to know what pack or wolf it is.

A reasonable person has to wonder what the Diamond's business or financial status has to do with human safety as if they have less right to be safe in their own homes. This is class warfare from someone who does not even know these people and certainly has no clue about what she claims.

This is an excerpt from Nancy Kaminski on the Gila Regional Sustainable Community forum

"The final Lobo death I must report is another hideous response to the fear some locals feel towards the Mexican wolf. Rancher Crystal Diamond of Beaverhead, NM complained to USFWS that a wolf was playing with their dogs and trying to get into her home. This four year old female had been in the area trying to find a mate for some time. During her time near Beaverhead she was not able to find a wolf mate and bred with a domestic dog. The IFT received complaints earlier this year of F1105 visiting hunters camps to play with their dogs. Last spring she gave birth to a hybrid litter which was euthanized. Without release of captive wolves she would never find a wolf mate because there just aren't any single male Mexican wolves within the over 7,000 square miles of her recovery zone. After the IFT failed to capture her, USFWS came to the rescue of Crystal Diamond with rifles and shot F1105 to death. Their reason was human safety concerns. The Diamond ranchers, a large and very wealthy guide and livestock outfit, have called on the Catron County Commissioners to pass a resolution so they may shoot on sight any Mexican wolf within a certain distance from their house. They have also contacted the Governor, Game Commissioners, Steve Pearce, USFWS and Cattle Growers Associations in their effort to vilify this lonely wolf."

Point of fact, Chrystal placed no complaint calls to FWS not a single one. She got home was unloading groceries and the wolf was suddenly in the yard with her small children. This is exactly the kind of false information our readers need to mitigate."

Oh, wow. Idaho was only supposed to get 150 wolves and we have probably have 10 times that now.

You folks need to be heard loud and clear. Don't let the government do this to you.

You will pay dearly in more ways than one. Idaho has lost 150 million dollars because of wolves since they introduced the Canadian Gray. That is 15 million per year. This includes Tags, small business, communities, hotels, out of staters among others.

First of all trapping and take due to trapping is not illegal take. It was fully addressed in the EIS and final rule which is the law the agency is supposedly operating under. The CBD simply feel it is timely to file a state suit so that the leftover Richardson administration liberal state Attorney General can be tested for activism on their behalf.

This little wolf has been in more traps than you can shake a stick at. She is as trapwise as they come.
I'd bet on you before I'd bet on FWS. But I have to wonder is she running with one of her hybrid dog pups or her hybrid dog mate from possibly another wolf / dog pack?
