Hazing

Consists of various methods used to frighten the wolves away from private residences and property. The wolf program personnel usually fire shotgun “cracker” (noise) shells towards and above the wolf’s location to hopefully make them leave an area. RAG boxes are also considered a hazing device. Hazing seems to be only minimally and temporarily effective, and they are obviously not discouraged from returning to areas where they have been hazed.
